We've launched our new NTSU Strategy for 2026–2031, setting out how we'll work to make sure every NTU student feels heard, connected and supported over the next five years.
From having your voice heard and making change happen to finding your community and getting the support you need, our new strategy is all about making your student experience better.
And it's been shaped by students themselves.
We've built our strategy around three priorities that will guide what we do over the next five years: Advocacy, Belonging and Care.
Making sure your voice is heard and leads to real change.
We want every student to understand their rights, feel confident speaking up and know how to influence decisions that affect them.
That means making it easier to raise issues, strengthening student representation and showing you how your feedback is making a difference.
Helping you find your people and feel part of something.
University is about more than your course. We want every student to feel welcome, make meaningful connections and have opportunities to get involved.
We'll keep creating inclusive spaces, events and communities where you can meet people, build friendships and feel at home, whatever your interests, background or campus.
Making sure you can access the support you need to thrive.
Everyone deserves to feel supported, respected and treated fairly throughout their time at university.
We'll work to remove barriers, make support easier to find and ensure students know where to turn when they need help.
This strategy hasn't been developed behind closed doors. It's the result of extensive conversations, feedback and collaboration with students across NTU.
We've brought together insight from thousands of individual conversations, an all-student survey, EDI focus groups, student and staff collaboration events, and Union meetings.
Throughout this process, students have told us how important it is to feel part of a community, have their voices taken seriously and be able to access fair, reliable support.
We've also worked closely with Nottingham Trent University while developing our strategies, making sure our plans work together to improve the student experience.
Our strategy isn't just about what we're going to do, but how we're going to do it.
Four values will guide our decisions and how we work with students:
Launching our strategy is just the beginning. The next five years are about putting these priorities into action and making sure students can see and feel the difference.
Whether that's making it easier to have your say, creating more opportunities to connect with others or improving access to support, we'll keep listening to students and using your experiences to shape what comes next.
Ultimately, we want every student to leave NTU feeling confident, capable and ready for their future.
