Time to get involved ⏰

Saturday 14-09-2024 - 00:00

What can you get involved in at Trent? In short, it's a lot. We've already told you about the incredible nightlife you'll be able to enjoy as an NTU student. Now let’s talk about all the daytime activities and fun things you can do between your studies.

Let's start with NTSU societies, because they're probably the best way to get more out of your time at uni. NTSU societies make it easy to meet other students with the same passions and interests as you.

Whatever you're into, joining one is a guaranteed way to find your people and make lifelong friends and memories. You can meet our societies at the Freshers Fair on your campus. And, if you're keen, you can even join them before you get here; visit our website to see the full list of societies and sign up today.

Get active and play sports

If you're into sports or fitness, you can join a sports club, become a gym member, or take part in play-for-fun sessions. They're all great ways to find fitness buddies. Sport at NTU is run by the university, not NTSU. You can learn more about sport at Trent on their website.

Why not Give It A Go?

If you're unsure what you'd like to get involved in at uni, or you want to try something different without any kind of long-term commitment, keep an eye on our Give It A Go (aka GIAG) program. We run weekly one-off activities that could be anything from singing or gardening to making coffee art or axe-throwing.

Honestly, it's super-random and lots of fun. We also run weekly crafts sessions and weekend trips to top attractions around the UK. See what's coming up here. (And bookmark the page if you want more novelty in your life because we add new stuff every week.)

Be the voice with Student Representation

If you're interested in student representation, democracy, and making the world (or at least uni) a better place, we have plenty of voluntary student rep positions you can apply for. I'll tell you more about student representation at NTSU and how you can involved tomorrow, so that's all I'll say for now.

Develop your CV with part-time work

One last thing: if you're interested in part-time work while you're at uni, there are tons of options around the city. We also hire hundreds of student staff to work in our on-campus shops and venues, which is a convenient way to fit work around your studies and meet other students.

You can always find our current vacancies on this webpage. We regularly update it with new opportunities, so if you don't see anything you fancy now, bookmark it and check back later.

Plus, we're having a part-time jobs fair at our City Campus building on Monday 9th October. It will feature the best student recruiters around the city, so save the date. We'll send you an email with more info about it nearer the time; keep an eye on your inbox for it.
