Looking after your sexual health is an important part of your overall wellbeing — yet it’s something that’s often ignored or surrounded by unnecessary stigma. This November, HealthyNTU are breaking the silence and making sexual health simple, accessible, and stigma-free with the launch of Get Tested Week (3rd–7th November).
Whether you’re in a relationship, seeing someone new, or simply want peace of mind, getting tested is one of the best ways to care for yourself and respect your partners.
Many sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, often have no visible symptoms. This means you or your partner might not even realise there’s an infection. Regular testing is the only reliable way to know for sure and to keep yourself and others safe.
Getting tested isn’t about judgement, it’s about taking control of your health and making informed choices. There’s no shame in it; it’s just good sense.
During Get Tested Week, you can access free, confidential STI testing on campus, with results sent straight to your phone within a week. Friendly staff from the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Sexual Health Service will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions in a relaxed, judgement-free space.
There’ll also be freebies, NTSU Events tickets, and a prize for the sports club or society that gets the most members tested!
